Media RSS Documention - Where is it?

I know that Zenphot supports Media RSS - which is awesome! - but where is the documentation? I found a link with some PHP code, but is that it? Granted, I'm no programming guru, so for the rest of us, where is the dumb person friendly documentation? Thank you!

Basically, I want to use the Media RSS to drive a gallery. Ideally I want to control which images from the RSS appear in a particular gallery based on Albums. To be more exact, I want to post a set of images from an album and put that gallery in a blog. How can it be done? Thanks Again!

Media RSS is an RSS extension developed by Yahoo. Look there.

Also I recommend to get familiar how Zenphoto works. The rss feeds are used for latest images and such and do not per se display all images in an album. You probably will need to code some additional stuff

I do not fully understand what you want to do actually. If you use Wordpress there are tools to include images from the gallery in posts.
  • Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. Ok, I'll try to be very specific so that what I'd like to do is clear:

I have a website, www.AlexanderShenkar.com which is now integrated with Zenphoto. I want to use Zenphoto as the management system, and then use a third party software to present the images via the Media RSS feed. So, ideally I want to go on a photo-shoot, upload the images via Zenphoto, add the metadata descriptions to the album, post the album photos in a blog and then write about it.

In addition, I would like the presentation to be a slideshow - in particular, Slideshow Pro has caught my attention. I really really like its slick look. Slideshow Pro supports Media RSS. So, I was hoping to post Slideshow Pro in a wordpress blog, and have it read the images from a specific album in Zenphoto. Can it be done?

I hope you now have a better idea of what I'm looking for. Eagerly awaiting for your input. -Alexander
  • One idea that I'm OK with is creating multiple Media RSS feeds, one for each album, just so that I don't have to use a special code to parse through the grand feed to pick out images from a specific album.

I don't know Slideshow pro. We use a standard media rss feed so if itworks with that it might work. For posting in a Wordpress blog there are some tools, espcially ZenphotoPress.

We have already album specific feeds. Please look at the documentation. You will have to set the items per feed to a high value so all images in the feed are catched.
  • Thanks! I'll study up so that I can ask more intelligent questions later. If you're not familiar with Slideshow Pro, it's an uber beautiful way to present photos: http://slideshowpro.net/

Honestly, I'm not crazy about the having to integrate Zenphoto theme with the Wordpress theme, I'd rather tunnel the content into the presentation method of my choice. That's why I'm looking into Media RSS, because it seems like the way to bypass dealing with the Zenphoto theme.

I looked into the Zenphoto Press and it doesn't even compare to Slideshow Pro.

ZenphotoPress is of course not the same and not meant like that. I am personally not a fan of flash, but for each purpose the right tool.
