I love Zenphoto. It's a great web gallery CMS.
I am hebrew speaker and would like to donate by
translating the control panel into Hebrew.
I am also a web designer and would like to create rtl theme for is (Hebrew is written for right to left - how strange!).
I searched the forum and saw that there were others before talked about translating
to Hebrew.
Is one of them also created rtl theme the control panel?
Is there an good Hebrew translation that I can continue working on?
I already opened a ticket in trac as the translating instructions suggested.
When is the right time to upload the translation files.?
I am hoping my help would help others.

Regarding translations please read the translation tutorial and also consider to join our translation group on google (link on download page). We make early release announcments so translations can be updated in time before the next release. You can also discuss issues regarding translating (technical or language wise) there with our other translators (including us and especially me as I am doing the German translation myself).
There is no existing Hebrew translation (all languages are listed always on the translations tickets), you would have to start from scratch which will be quite a task with 2500+ strings to translate right now.
Regarding theme: Are you talking about the backend? The backend is not really themable and it would be a huge task to change that. If it is only about the direction of the current text that might be doable via the admin.css file.
I joined the translation group.
I already translated 15% of the string so I estimate that it will take me about a week and a half to finish it all + few days of testing.
Yes, I am talking about the backend. I'll try changing only the direction as you suggested and I'll see what will happen.
