Server SetLocale on Windows Server 2003 Box

Hi, I have been using zenphoto with multi Lnaguage for some time now on a linux box but I have just moved it to a Windows Server 2003 Virtual Machine and now I have some errors.
When I use the language selection i get

The locale ru_RU is not supported on your server.

When I try a fresh Install of zenphoto the setup checks says

PHP setlocale() failed
Warning!
Locale functionality is not implemented on your platform or the specified locale does not exist. Language translation may not work.
See the troubleshooting guide on zenphoto.org for details.

I have been trying to read up on how I am to fix this issue but I was hoping someone can try to shed some light for me. How do I enable SetLocale on a windows server?

I was using zenphoto ver 1.2.6 but now updated to 1.2.9 and the clean install was on 1.2.9 and it's still got errors.
Any Help would be appreciated

Please read the troubleshooting entry about this. The locale functionality has to be implemented on your server, you might need to ask your provider.
  • Hi, thanks for your reply. I have read that it needs to be enabled but I can't find anywhere that says how to enable it. It's a virtual Machine I have running so I need to enable it myself although I have posted a ticket with the provider to ask if they can help me I would to be able to do it because I dont know if they will do it.

Sorry, I/we don't use or know Windows server therefore we don't support them officially. But others use Zenphoto on IIS servers so maybe someone else will be able to help.
  • ok thanks, if I do find out anything I will post what needs to be done.
  • You may be having a common problem as per this thread, which includes the solution:

    http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=5525

The nightly builds have already fixed this problem after the 1.2.9 release, but in the meantime you'll have to make two tiny code changes to fix this, if this problem is the same as yours, which it sounds like.

    Hope that helps!
  • Thanks, I had actually tried this and it wasnt working on my exisiting setup but from a new fresh install it does seem to fix a lot of the errors but some problems are still there. I will try to figure out the rest of it. I thought because the post was 9 months old maybe it had all been changed now anyway and thats why I was getting the errors.
