text formatting in thumb nail description

Hi

Please have a look at the text formatting in thumb nail description on my site at the following two places:

http://www.outzeal.com

and

http://www.outzeal.com/index.php?album=skiing/photos/

The problem will be self explanatory.

Before updating to the new version the text was contained within the space given but now its going out.

Thanks

Sorry, I cannot reproduce it: http://zenphoto.maltem.de
  • I had no problems with the version 1.4.3.5

For 1 year I was busy with some other project so this site was unattended. Now I checked that the new version is 1.4.5.7

    I directly upgraded to 1.4.5.7 from 1.4.3.5

Can this be a problem to all these issues (including the login-out bug)?

If I revert back to 1.4.3.5 then how many versions are there between 1.4.3.5 and 1.4.5.7 that I have to upgrade one by one?

Everything else looks ok so your upgrade went well.
It's probably caused by a newer version of TinyMCE.

Did you check if the text in your Album Description field is perhaps set to "justify" ?
  • acrylian Administrator, Developer
I don't think it is TinyMCE as that is the same 3.x version stream on 1.4.3 and 1.4.5, although the exact version will differ.

Are you sure you use the official theme and not a perhaps css customized version. That would explain why the line height is higher that on my test site. The justify that is added inline /that is probably set via TinyMCE) should not affect that.
  • I am using the official zenpage theme, however I have done the following changes in the album.php and gallery.php files

    The default was:

    <div><?php echo shortenContent(getAlbumDesc(),45,'...'); ?></div>

I had changed it to 145 from 45. It was running good in the old version. After your reply (getting a hint) I have now changed it to 100. Things are a bit better but still not as good as before.

I have removed the justify command from the "TREKKING" album on the main page to see what effect it has. It reduces the extra spaces but nothing else.

Moreover I have also noticed that photos are not centered when the slideshow is run. The whole thing is aligned to the left.

    Thanks

That makes senes as the length of the shortening was of course fitted to the space available. That kind of layout does not allow to adjust that automatically.

That does not explain the different line height though or why the slideshow is not center for you. I am sorry, I cannot reproduce what you encounter. Make sure you are really using the official theme files without modifications.
  • ok though i was using the original theme except for the changes mentioned above, I have re-installed the original zenpage theme. After running the setup file following persists:

    1) PHP version 5.3.13 - Warning!

PHP Version 5.2 or greater is required. Version 5.4 or greater
is strongly recommended. Use earlier versions at your own risk.

    2) Perhaps there was a problem with the upload. You should check the following files:

    themes/zenpage/404.php
    themes/zenpage/album.php
    themes/zenpage/archive.php
    themes/zenpage/contact.php
    themes/zenpage/favorites.php

    themes/zenpage/slideshow.css
    themes/zenpage/slideshow.php
    themes/zenpage/style.css
    themes/zenpage/theme.png
    themes/zenpage/theme_description.php
    themes/zenpage/themeoptions.php

    zp-core/setup.php

I have uploaded these file (by deleting the older ones and not just over-writing) many times but this error message persists.

After this I have deleted the setup folder and setup.php file from zp-core folder.

Since now the default command is: shortenContent(getAlbumDesc(),45,'...')

the text alignment issue is not relevant but the slideshow alignment is still not proper as it is aligned to the left.

    Thanks

You can ignore these notes. The PHP version is a recommendation as the message tells. The files warning is just a warning that their file times does not match the rest. This could be a hacked file theoretically but since you know you just uploaded those you can ignore it.

I am sorry I am not able to reproduce any layout issues with the slideshow in the Zenpage theme in current Safari, Firefox and Chrome. All centered as meant to be (There is one issue in Zenpage theme I just see that the controls are black on black but that is easily corrected).
  • fretzl Administrator, Developer
The slideshow is centered when I visit your site with FF, Safari or Chrome.
  • acrylian Administrator, Developer
    Btw, for me as well.
  • Well now for me as well. I dont know how it has automatically happened. All what I did was to replace the slideshow.php and slideshow.css files with the old version 1.4.3.5 to see if it works, but it did'nt so I changed them back to 1.4.5.7 files.

Anyway as long as its done its good, however now the controls are black on black. I cant see them (earlier on they were visible).
  • acrylian Administrator, Developer
Yes, the controls are wrong, that will be fixed in the support build soon. You can do yourself easily, just open in an image editor of your choice and invert the colors.
  • thanks, I have downloaded the support build and will be going in for that first because the login issue is still pending.
