Link back to index page on site

I am trying to add a link back to the index page on the site. The gallery is installed in a folder called gallery and I need the user to be able to click to go back to main site after viewing the gallery. However I do not know which file to edit.
Can anybody help me?

If the link should be everywhere, you need to edit all files. Which ones depend on the theme used. Please read the theming tutorial for the basics.
