404 Error; can't click thumbnails

So, I'm having a problem when I try to view an album. It says:

"Not Found
The requested URL /photooos/bit/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.aethereus.org Port 80"

Any thoughts? I have not edited my .htaccess file because I can't seem to find it. Where is it, exactly? Thanks for your time! :)

    Well, I changed the mod_rewrite to false, and now it partially works. There are still no thumbnails, but if I click the links that are in their place, I can see the big photo. Any thoughts? :)

    aye I need to know what you did? what do I type in an htaaccess file?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, the mroe detail the better.

    ok am am now seeing the place holders for the thumbnails and whatnot....

    I turned the mod_rewrire to false and also changed just the one line in the hta access file, did you change alot of things in that file or just the one line that points to the directory?

    with mod_rewrite set to false, the htaccess file doesnt do anything. your problem is you dont have gd installed..

    run phpinfo(); in a php file and verify you have gd2.0 or greater installed

    yeah doesnt look like it is going to work.

    gd is pretty common now a days.. maybe you can nicely ask your provider if they can enable it.
