Adding tags to images or albums

Looks like images that come in with IPTC keywords in place get those added as tags automatically; this is very good.

However, I'd like to be able to add tags manually in the admin interface, and I'm not finding any way to do that. It looks like the "tags" box contains only tags already existing somewhere, and I can't find a way to add one. (Obvious hack is to add it to an image and upload it, but that's a hack.) Am I missing something? I kinda assume I must be!

Also, it looks like it's adding partial keywords to the tags panel; I've got people identified in the form "Dyer-Bennet, David" with IPTC keywords, and I'm getting all three of "David", "Dyer-Bennet", and "Dyer-Bennet, David" showing up in the tags panel for such images.

There is a, I think, very obvirouse separate main tab named "tags" where you can add, change or delete tags. They then appear in the tag selector on the items itself.

If you are loggedin and your theme supports it (alls standard themes do bascially) you can use the inline editing to add tags directly.

Okay, so they have to be added centrally, or imported already on a photo; I can't add a new tag when looking at a photo (just assign one or more tags already present). Got it.

You did not read the last sentence of my former post corretly. You can directly add tags, but on your site, not the backend (if the theme supports it, all standard themes do - except Efferscence+ in Simpleviewer flash mode naturally).
