Using Two Installations

I've been using ZenPhoto for a public gallery and now would like to use private galleries for family photos. I'd prefer to place the family photos in an .htaccess protected directory and to use a second installation of ZenPhoto in the .htaccess protected directory and create an entirely new MqSQL database for the new installation.

I'm thinking this is the easiest way for me to have a private gallery and would avoid any possibility of causing problems with my main public gallery.

Is this an acceptable way to accomplish this?

Thanks

You could use the rights management and/or password protected albums. But of course Zenphoto can only protect all that goes through it.

You could also rename the /albums folder and move it outside the root of your server.

But if you really want to separate them the best is to have independent installations. htaccess is the best protection since it is on server level.

If your server supports symlinks you could use the cloneZenphoto plugin to run two installatations with one core.
