Latest Colorbox in zpGalleriffic

Hello,

I love the zpGallerific theme and Colorbox. However, I have been pulling my hair out for days now trying to modify the theme to allow for bypassing the IMAGE INFO link all together and being able to simply click the large image and have it bring up COLORBOX right there (or a link to a colorbox popup) and have it be able to use the latest colorbox ...

The idea I am looking to implement is similar to this fine website:
