Zenpage as index.php

I do not understand exactly how to get a zenpage page to become the opening page of a website (i.e. an index.php page) or how to have the url http://www.mysite.com/index.php and not http://www.mysite.com/zenpage/index.php.

I created an unpublished page called "homepage" (maybeI should call it "index"?!) and chose "homepage" under Homepage in the CMS under Theme.

Could you please help me further?

    http://www.mysite.com/index.php and not http://www.mysite.com/zenpage/index.php.
If you install Zenphoto in a folder named "zenpage" you get this url. If you don'T want that don't install it in a folder but in the root.

To my knowledge only the Zenpage theme does support this homepage feature. I just tried it still works that simple. Make sure you don't have the static_html_cache active and if you do you need to clear the cache first to see an effect (or wait until it updates itself as set on its option).
  • Thank you very much acrylian for this super quick answer!

I feared it would be the way you explained. It does not mean at all that I am negative about Zenpage. On the contrary! I'll have to find a solution with the design of my index.php for I would not like to have all the zenphoto elements in the root, I prefer to have them in a folder.

The main reason for me to have a zenpage page as an index.php is that I would like to have the language selector already there so that the English-speaking visitor can go directly to the English version of the gallery, the French-speaking to.... etc. Or do you have an idea how to do these links in an elegant way?

Ok, I see you want a splash page actually. These are a little out of fashin, especially since you can switch the site's language at any time if you include the selector or a custom one. Or even let it switch via the visitor's browser language setting.

But if you want a splash page with just two or more language seleciton links that is doable as well.
Enable the seo_locale plugin. Then create a static html page in the root. There place links like `http://www.mysite.com/zenpage/FR` then Zenphoto will switch the language via URl (see the plugin's documentation as well).
  • This works perfectly !!!!
