Swedish translation for version 1.3.1.2 [5831]

Hi'ya...

Was wondering... As the Swedish version of lang file's distributed with this version, made by Pasi Pihlajamäki 2010-05-26, is much newer then the one in the Zenphoto/trac (translation tickets), I was wondering... Are the any other places in which to find translations files ?

I feel that this one is lacking a few things here and there, but I'm not capable enought to try and translate it myself. Hehe, I've tried with deletion and new upload as a result ;)

My effort in an example:
(Manage users, and the three blue links to Managed pages, albums and new categories.) In the .po file it says to get Msgid "yaddiyadda yo" from admin-functions.php:A NUMBER, which I was lead to believe was the rownr... Clearly not, as not one of these nr's is correct compared to my admin-functions.php. Nev'the'less I added

#: zenphoto/zp-core/admin-functions.php:2878
msgid "Managed pages:"
msgstr "Hanterade sidor:

#: zenphoto/zp-core/admin-functions.php:2871
msgid "Managed news categories:"
msgstr "Hanterade nya kategorier:

them numbers correctly corresponding with the actual rows in my admin.functions.php which made diddleidum of a difference when trying it out, hehe... Soooooo, aiding a fellow zenphoto'ian, please.

Ooooor, are there any place to get information on how to possibly gain knowhow of these things ? Such as opening the .po file isn't any problem, but trying to open the .mo one do not go so well... (I'm on linux, trying to edit it in gedit) What is the difference between them two file anywhooo ?

Regards Patric.

  • Sorry for being so at it ;) - Found a tutorial for it, but I would like a response to my initial Q's if possible, Zänk Yo

The Swedish translation we have included is surely not newer than the ticket as we take them from there. We always include translations that are at least at 90%.

You are of course welcome to work on the translation. The more the better. Maybe contact the original translator to maybe join forces or even take it over completly.
    By now I sugg

Best you read the tutorial you already found plus the contributor guidelines and join our translate google group.

The group is the place to discuss all stuff directly related with translations. There you also get early release anouncements and the string freeze date to possibly get the translation ready in time for the release-

By now you should work with the nightlies or the svn version as a lot changes since 1.3.1.2 (currently all 100% 1.3.1.2 translations are at 88% for the coming 1.3.2).
  • In adddition, post 1.3.1 we will not remove an existing language, so unmaintained ones may get quite old. (You will know their age from the language selector in admin.)
