I dont know why when we drop photos in FTP, it automatically publish photos. The industry standard for such uploading, is to publish album after.
Is there something I am overlooking?
Usually when I upload photos in other gallery systems through, I then finalize album name, settings etc, then publish. I upload multiple galleries daily from events, and Im running a commercial website. So i can afford to have albums automatically published to the public with setting proper watermarks, gallery name and other pertinent info.
I get 1,000 visitors an hour, so every minute counts in that situation.
Any suggestions besides uploadin to web based browser(too slow)

Anyway, please refer to this "industry standard" you reference. We certainly do not want Zenphoto to behave differently from such a published standard.
Without a documented standard, all is just opinion. And as you well know, that may vary.
So I saw an answer where you guys said, you will not implement auto Unpublish featured from FTP because some people had publishing issues, even when other users requested this. http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=3138#post-18752
However, I see now that the feature is there. So many of us will get the wrong impression based on previous answers in forum database, Like i did.
I was just saying that FTP Upload without publishing is a standard feature in all gallery systems. BUT now you have it.
Its good that many of these new questions are answered and bumped up the forum list. As some old answers may not help. Thanks alot.
