.htaccess Error After Installation

So I am hosting zenphoto on a newly purchased host called Netfirms. I uploaded the files and followed the basic installation instructions. When I try to go and proceed with the setup I get this error message and i have no idea what it means. Hopefully someone knows whats going on? Thank you so much.

Cannot read /mnt/w0230/d13/s25/b027e035/www/dittodot.ca/zenphoto/.htaccess

    Does this come from Zenphoto (that is do you see any zenphoto screen?) If so there is probly some permissions problem. Zenphoto as part of its installation would like to read this file to check/update certain things.

    Perhaps there was a line number or something else as part of that message? If so that would be helpful.
