Btw, nice to twitter about our TERRIBLE support. Really motivating for a VOLUNTEER to help you (especially as your issue is surely not Zenphoto issue as I have used your image on my test install).
I'm fairly sure it's not my hosting company (MediaTemple). I have several ZP installs running, all of them fine.
Also the thumbnails have only become blurry since re-defining the size.

Re: my tweet, all I wanted was support.
Here's a few issues i've had while using the ZP service...
Documentation on the site is only ok. It still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.
The search function returns results that are irrelevant & over 5 years old.
The forum is frustrating, if you don't want my posts to be available to the general public that's fine, but when you hide them from me it looks like it's broken or hasn't worked.
You don't have a public/real-time face on Twitter
I appreciate the fact that you're a volunteer and that these issues aren't your fault.
And you got it. So what exactly was TERRIBLE then?

So what exactly? We are a open project. Feel free to help or point out what you don't understand.
We of course don't cover standard webtechnique stuff naturally. And all other usage stuff actually is explained on the backend itself. Zenphoto is quite easy to use.

Well, we did not write that software.

Which is explained on registering and also above the post form.

So what? I don't have time for Twitter. If you want support it is this forum you get it easily (and we often help much more than on other forums...)
You know, it is appropriate that you first put this up on Twitter because you really are a Twit. This problem is caused by your faulty modification of the Efferevescence+ theme. (You did not even have the courtesy to say that you modified it not even did you rename the theme on your site. Shame on you.)
Anyway, you will always get awful results if you tell the browser to display a 100 pixel image into a 135x190 frame.
You probably do not deserve even this support, but I really think that the world needs to know that jerks like you are around who will make beginners mistakes in HTML and blame the software for them.
I have no problem with the software, I think it's excellent (I never said that it wasn't).
Any issues that have arisen today were based on my experiences with the website & trying to find relevant support articles. It's not a personal attack, just my feedback on the website UX.
I'm not sure where this is defined to change it.
if you tell the browser to display a 100 pixel image into a 135x190 frame.
And with regards to modifying the theme, I was under the impression it's open source & that I can hack/change it, moreover I am always happy to refer people to the platform used but often don't display the badge publicly (it's fairly common practice & you see this across most WordPress/Drupal sites).
I'm using the Effervescence theme and when I change the thumbnail size the quality drops massively.
You certainly are welcome to modify a theme. That was not the issue. What was at issue is that you did not bother to mention you had modified it. In fact you stated the theme name as if it were the standard one. (see above.) You also did not rename the theme. That is not so much our problem as yours. Next time you update Zenphoto the release version of the theme will override your changes.
Since the problem was created by modifying the theme that makes it all the more sinister that you withheld that info. Neitehr have you mentioned other things we typically need to know as indicated by the many times refered to Forum rulse and useage resources. Ofcourse, whay should we expect you would have read that when you did not even read the note in read on the posting box about moderation, so double posted your initial message.
Finally, I guess because no one dropped everything and responded to you moments after your posting you decide that we provide terrible support. Well, you have got fulfulment on this. We will provide terrible support for you especially because we do not appreciate your tactics.
Case closed. (And most likely support closed as well unless one of our kind users takes pitty and diagnoses your problem for you.)
Comments
I'm using the effervescence theme and having issues with the thumbnail quality.
When I change the size in the settings the quality drops massively.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
George
Thumb quality is an option, also search for color management.
I am aware that thumb quality is an option, this is currently set to 100.
I have also enabled sharpening and played with the settings.
I have also purged the image cash multiple times.
You can see an example of the problem at http://www.jennywiscombe.com/art-prints/
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks
