Administration link and flowplayer don't function after 1.4.0.1 upgrade

I upgraded with simplescripts. It didn't fix the issues in my modified theme of course, so I have updated theme_head, theme_body_open, theme_body_close, normalizeColumns(). However, the administration link doesn't function and the flowplayer does not show. Can someone help with what changes I need to make to my theme to make these work again? I tried switching out functions.php and that didn't fix the administration link and instead messed up the formatting so I changed it back. The new Effervescence theme works fine. If this is too much of a headache I will try to rework the new Effervescence theme with all my changes, but that will be a big headache also... any help appreciated!

If you are using a modified Effervescence+ theme, then the simplest course is to compare the old standard theme with the one from the current release. (Presuming that simplescripts actually installs the current theme.)

Well, I compared the two and the new one appeared to be so much different that I decided to just re-do my changes on the new theme and save the trouble of figuring out the old one and loosing the updates as well. 5 hours or so later it's back up and running and looking better than it did before...

This will make me think twice whether an upgrade is worth it in the future though... I have another Zenphoto site that I ought to upgrade also but it is a bit more complicated... ah well, another day!
