some thumbnails, mid-sized photos not showing

Hi;

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of ZP yesterday. I have used FTP to upload photos to several folders I created in the albums directory.

Back in ZP, most of the photos show up perfectly. However, a few thumbs and mid sized photos are not showing, perhaps not being created? I have tried deleting the cache, but this does not fix the problem. Is there some way to force the rebuild of these, or is that even a fix?

Here is the install:

BTW, this looks great so far. I am looking for a simple image management product to use when we go out full-time cruising on our sailboat, and this looks like to fulls the need very nicely. I look forward to playing with the wordpress integration too.

  • The&debug feature helped me realize that some of the files were being corrupted during the FTP transfer. I was able to correct the issue by deleting them from within ZP, and then re-uploading them via FTP. Thank you for the help.

    Is there a way I can simply re-upload them via FTP, and then "Tell" ZP to force a rebuild so that I don't have to go and delete the individual files?

    You need to understand the concept of full images in /albums and the sized/thumbs as cached ones in /cache. The first is what you upload.

    Zenphoto is file system based so it adds all folders and images what it finds in /albums as entries. From these Zenphoto creates the sized/thumbs images. If you delete an image via the backend direclty you delete the full image only.

    You can manually clear the image cache. There is a button on the overview admin page for all as well as one for each album individually. Zenphoto will create new cached images if there are none. It does this on the fly when an imageg or album is visited for the first time. Please see the related entry on the troubleshooting on this.

    You can of course delete the /cache manually via ftp as well.
  • Thanks for the great explanation!

  • Also, if you re-upload the image Zenphoto will presume it has changed and re-generate the cached images.
