Bulk changing of Album Thumbnail option

Hi,

I have an album with 50 Sub-Albums and each of the 50 have 10 Sub-Albums. These 50 all have the Default Thumbnail option set to Random. Is there any way that I can do a bulk edit/change to set the 50 and their subalbums to Most Recent rather than Random?

I am afraid, no. Except changing it in the database direclty.

Btw, I somehow thought we once changed the default to latest to avoid overhead.

EDIT: Forget what I said... Of course there is. On the admin overview page there is a button "reset albumthumbs".
  • Ah thanks acrylian, I was afraid you'd say that.

Is the database change simple that I can do in my database panel.

I know SQL and not afraid to do that.

It seems for me the default is random
  • Thanks

What happens to my other albums that I've already configured to use a specific image. I only want it for these 50 and their subs.
  • The global option of course resets ALL albums. If you want to reset indivigual ones you have to do that from the album's edit page.
  • Thanks.

How can I stop new albums that are created having this as the default option.

It's really slowing our site down having random images displayed.

    Cheers

  • Use the second button of the utility to set the default. But note, Unless you select a specific image as the album thumb it is unlikely to change the performance. Each of the other options require fetching all the album images.
  • Ah thanks, makes sense.
