cant view site - 500 internal server error

i've uploaded the latest version to my webspace, and i cant even view the setup page without seeing 500 Internal Server Error

    Probably either a wrong or no htaccess file (you did run setup, didn't you?) or your server does not support modrewrite but you have the Zenphoto option enabled.

    i've not run setup, as it wont even let me.

    all i have done is upload the script, nothing else as it wont let me.

    i tried to access the setup, but still get the error

    I've managed to get this fixed now..

    I got in touch with my host, and it seems it was to do with folder and file permissions.

    suPHP was trying to protect the server against over generous permissions.

    Ok, good you solved. Without setup being run not much would happen anyway.
