IPTC to fill before Zenphoto

Hi! everybody,
I wonder if I have to fill the IPTC informations (copyrights, tags, etc.) my pictures before to uploading thems into zenphoto or Zenphoto can do the main job?

And where can I add new taggs on Zenphoto? did I have to code something?

Thank for your help!

You can add meta data before upload. Zenphoto will then read that.

You can add titles, descriptions and tags later on the backend as well but those will not be attached to the images itself but stored in the database.

I suggest to take a look at it yourself (there are screenshots as well.)
  • I really recommend you add the metadata to the images before upload. That way it is always with the image no matter what else happens. Even if you loose the database with no backup.

    Thanks for help!
I started to add metadata using XNVIEW that's a very long job to cach all informations of all those pictures!

Another question is that how to put tags into ZenPhoto????
Did I have to code something?

    Thanks for helps I appreciate!!!

If you look around on the backend you will surely not miss that. As already said look at the screenshots.
  • Also if you put "keywords" into your pictures with XNVIEW (if it can do that) then they will show up as tags.

My workflow is normally with Apple Aperture and when adding all the metedata in aperture, zenphoto grabs as much as that info as possible and posts it. No adding or editing metadata in zenphoto. What's great is that this even works when uploading FTP right out of Aperture.

I believe that the theme has to support this. Correct?

Regarding display of meta data such as enclosure yes, but the reading of titles, tags (keywords), descriptions and such is standard functionality.
