Access invisible galleries with password

Hello,

I'm trying to find a way to make a totally private client area where galleries may only be visible and accessed through input of it's password.

I already have private galleries in the client area of my site but the galleries itself are showing with a question mark. The idea is to not have any galleries showing before input of password, hence not telling clients about other clients work on the site.

Is there any way that ZenPhoto can ask for a password before showing any galleries after clicking the client area link, and only then, after input of specific password, would the requested gallery be visible and accessible?

It would be ideal to have only a password request box after clicking the client area link. Is this possible with ZenPhoto?

I'm using your default theme with some minor tweaking for the most minimal as possible appearance.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sara

Unpublish those albums (Gallery means here always the Zenphoto installation itself - see the glossary) and they will not be shown.

This has been explained several times on the forum and is also on the troubleshooting and the user management article on the user guide if you want to read more.

It is possible to make such a client area but will require some theme coding.
  • Acrylian, do you have advice on what to read about the required theme coding to make the above referenced client area?

You need to get familiar with the user rights and also the object model for the related checks. You will have to do a custom theme page and some other additions as you can only assign user rights to toplevel albums. You basically need to use a toplevel album and its subalbums as the main gallery and all outside as protected. It is some work to do.
