User tab in Zenphoto administration

I have a little question on how the tabs are named. I wonder why the "Users" tab becomes "Admin" when the Groups feature is activated. I don't know how others feel about that, but I think that it would be more evident what the tab is about if it were still called "Users" (with all its sub-tabs), or, if you insist "Users and Groups"

  • "users and Groups" is quite a large tab. I doubt most would like to expend that much of their browser realestate to that. So if your question is how we choose names, we do it based on this space consideration and on what seem to make sense. The tab is always "users" when it displays the users. Bu when you install that plugin this tab becomes a subtab to the admin one which is short for user administratin (another too long sstring).

    If you are asking where this name gets set, it is in the filter for adding tabs to the back end.

    And to add, in other languages some terms are even longer.
  • Well, I am aware that "Users and Groups" would be very long, and even longer in French and other languages.
    But my main suggestion was to continue to call it "Users" even when the Groups feature is activated.

    Maybe it's my French-speaking background that kicks in, but when I see "Admin", I expect to find the stuff that is in the first 3 or 4 sub-tabs of the Options tab (i.e. Database administration).

    The best name would probably be "user management" or what about "user accounts"? That could also be used if groups are enabled and would remove the need to rename the tab at all. Just an idea..
