Truncated Pages

Hi,

I've run into a problem with a longer than usual (for me) page. After editing and saving, the page is being truncated so that the end of the article (text and graphics) is missing. Viewing the page in the browser confirms this. I've experienced this multiple times over the past few days. The page in question prints out to about 12 hardcopy pages. I am using ZP v1.4.0.3 and zpgalleriffic v1.0.14. Is there some memory limit when editing pages? Is there a way to change it? Or something else entirely?

Thanks, as always for a great platform.

  • Check the limits of your server/browser for the amount of data that may be posted. Most likely it is being truncated when the post occurs.

Sorry, right off hand I do not remember how to check this.

    Thanks for getting back quickly.

The "truncated when saving" behavior occurs during the saving of the newly edited page. the page has not been published yet.

I have checked the problem with both Safari and FireFox, and there is no difference. I contacted my host who verified my databases are uncorrupted and without limit.

It seems as though the problem lies elsewhere. I can split the article into 2 pieces as a workaround, but I wanted to be sure that this limitation wasn't immediately solvable.
  • You have not understood what I said. The most likely problem is that the operation of posting the update has truncated the post. There definately is the possibility of this happening--I just do not remember if it is a PHP setting, Server setting, or what. Of course your database would not be "corrupt", it just would not contain all your editing.
