Just testing a lot for theme errors.... sorry :)

Those are serialized strings that are used for storing multilingual contents. Seems that is a bug.

    hi,
this bug is not only if paged_thumbs_nav is enabled.
all the accentuated characters are concerned.

according to me this is a critical issue (it is not possible to migrate my personnal website with this issue)

A good reason for trying Beta versions. I am sure we will get this fixed, but when we will make an update release is a good question.
  • I think there are two different bugs there.

    - The "chinese" text you see in the right column is a problem, either with the theme or with Zenphoto. I suspect it is with the theme, but I really can't say.

    – The accented characters looking strange – in French – is definitely a problem with how the French translation was compiled. I was able to verify it by changing the language to Spanish and Italian (no such problem) and by looking at the code in the .po file. It's definitely a character encoding problem of that language file. I don't know if it's possibly to change the encoding in a single step; I'm able to change the encoding from ANSI to UTF-8 with Notepad++ and then the file looks OK but can't be recompiled with PoEdit.
Quite frankly, I just installed the French language file from my former version of Zenphoto, and it works... except for the new plugins, of course.

If you think there is something wrong with the French translation you should add a comment to the language ticket so the translator notices it.
  • I just did. I created a new ticket because I am not sure how to update current tickets. (And BTW, the current ticket lists the French version as 1.3.2 whereas the files were at 1.4.0 and are now at 1.4.1).

You can't "update" ticket texts itself, you can only add comments, assign it to yourself or add files etc.

But your separate tickets is fine. You could also join the translate group (if you haven't already) and send a mail about that.

All main translators commit their changes directly to the svn so the files attached to tickets do not mean anyhting anymore actually. However, the version should be updated for orientation (might be that I forgot that on the German translation ticket as well..).
  • I have been a member of the translation group for a few weeks. I have been busy today correcting this problem. Guess I'll have something to post to the group.
