Parse Error

When I navigate to the directory where I uploaded the files, the installation provides the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /home/thejo11/public_html/zen/zp-core/functions.php on line 497

My search of this forum results in one thread with the same error and the main issue was PHP version. My server is running 5.3.27.

Also, all of the files are 0644 permission and the folders are 0755.

Any help out there for me?

p.s., I was running an older version of zephoto, I hadn't uploaded any pictures for quite awhile, and on my latested attempt the thumbs failed to generate. So, deleted everything, even the old database and all zen directories, then started over.

    Try to reupload as a file could be uploaded wrong or missing and check the error logs for permission errors.
