Has anyone integrated ZP with CMSMadesSimple? (not to be confused with cmsimple) I have recently started sing CMSMS for a lot of projects, I find it very user friendly for clients and for me too!
No I am not, but I have used zenphoto with typepad, wordpress, phpmycms, phpnuke and joomla. simply styling your zenphoto like your other system is the way to go.
Ok so just to clarify, you are saying forget "real" integration, just make it look the same and link out and then back in to the CMS?
If so, this is not what i was really asking, but as you say it might be the way to go.
What I was getting at was CMSMS has a module and plugin architechture and I was wondering if any one had repackaged ZP so it integrates seamelesly. For me CMSMS and ZP are both exteremly usable and would compliment one another perfectly.
I understand that my solution is not what you asked for. I was just letting you know the answer to your question. This software is still in an extreemly early stages of development right now. There is no plugin architecture for zenphoto and wont be until version 2.0 according to all roadmaps I have seen. Lots of other CMS's have plugin architechtures and it is really one of the most asked for features besides subalbums. Wordpress is one of the most asked for and most widely used. It is simply not in that stage of development. There are little bits and peices of what some people have developed but we are talking 3 or 4 legitimate "plugins" that have come across and all for wordpress, and all are for inserting an image into a blog from the album.
I have done many "integrations" with zenphoto, the overall best and easiest way to do it is styling. because no "plugin" feature is available for it. Not saying it cannot be done.. but it hasnt been done yet in a way that has been available for download as a plugin for other users to use. Most everytyhing like that has been user specific developed for 1 certain scenario.
Thanks for your suggestions, they are appreciated, and I dont mean to sound in anyway ungrateful, but I know all this you have told me, I have been I have been aware of ZP since the first release. I was just asking specifically if anyone has tried to repack ZP in its still youthful state as a CMSMS module.
Your solution is a possible one, but probably not suitable for my purposes.
I'm going to attempt to 'integrate' it with my site (custom made it up as I went along cms). I've been reading through the classes and functions and I think if I just remove some security/authentication things and modify parts of their classes and my classes to work together it would work.
Unfortunately I am more of a design / html / css person than a php / mySQL so no, no joy. Genuine integration into CMSMS does seem like the marriage made in heaven to compliment the by now classic WP/ZP combo.. but I really dont know how to approach it. I dont think simply styling it would offer a satisfactory solution. I will start a thread on the CMSMS forum suggesting it!
