I've searched the forum and not found anything that answers my question, so thought I'd ask in here in the hope that this helps someone out in the future.
I'm looking in to using Zen Photo for a lot of large images, but would like to use someone like Rackspace to host it.
Is it possible to have Zen Photo running on one VM and the image files on their cloud files services, preferably then being served with their CDN?
If so, is this going to mean trying to custom code a plugin for this to talk to Rackspace's API?
I'm hoping it already exists, but I think that's more hopeful than realistic.

No, Zenphoto is for self hosting as it is file system based (which for example explained on the troubleshooting).
The only way to do this is using the "youtube" trick with the textobject plugin - also described on our troubleshooting - but that is quite inconvenient.
