Zenphoto coming up blank

I tried to upgrade today to 1.4.1.3. I got to the setup.php page no problem, and it complained about my rights to the folders. I clicked the button to apply the suggested changes, and got an error. From that time on, Chrome shows an error 500 from Apache, and Safari and Firefox just show a blank white page (but oddly no error) if I attempt to get to my installation.

Apache is working fine. PHP seems to be working fine, because I have a WordPress installation on the same server that is okay. It's just Zenphoto that is unhappy.

I've tried recopying the 1.4.1.3 files over, giving 777 rights and +x to everything (out of desperation), and still nothing.

Any ideas what I should look at next?

    Check if you have a correct .htaccess file. Re-run setup to let it create one (<yourinstall>/zp-core/setup.php - if you have deleted the files as suggested after setup, you need to reupload them).

    Perhaps 0777 is not the right setting. Some server configurations will not execute scripts from folders with too loose a security.

    Also check you apache error logs.

    Thanks! I'm sorry - I DO know to check logs. There was an errant '/' in the zp-config.php file. So, once I fixed that, the upgrade page came back up and ran with no problems.

    One of the reasons I upgraded (aside from the fact that I just thought I should keep up to date - I was on 1.4.1.1) is that I have some photos that will NOT show in Zenphoto, even though they are obviously there and I can access them with other applications. I was hoping to fix that, but it didn't. So, I'll play with that a bit and then start a new thread if necessary.
