Cannot upload images

Install went smooth, and i've gotten to work with small sized pictures but when i try upload and image through FTP or even larger images through the admin it doesnt upload.. it creates the album and even shows the filenames of the images i upload but no thumbnail and no image..

the only way i can get it to work is to upload small images through the admin..
ftp doesnt work at all

ive check out my php.ini and it's set to 50mbs

Just a little something to add to that..
The images *sometimes* show up in the cache folder
And the images can be viewed at full size.. So they are being uploaded they just aren't being made into thumbnails or the bigger image for the comment page

Are your album and cache folders set to chmod 777 permissions?

yes they are
thats one of the first things i did and i keep going back to check if its still set to that

Okay, i scaled down my images to 1/3rd the original and uploaded them.. fixed.. even through ftp, its fine
So, the problem is in a max size somewhere..

Where are all the places i can look to edit the max height/width/file size restrictions for cacheing, creating thumbs, creating scaled down images for the comment pages?

There are no maximums or restrictions within Zenphoto, other than a very liberal 3000 pixel max for output images...

It's probably the php 'memory_limit' value -- this is different from the 'max_upload_size' and controls much of what zenphoto can do. Try setting it to 64M or higher.
