I just finished my photography website rebuild with ZenPhoto (customized zenpage theme) .... currently working on my personal artwork site and one for my boss. The flexibility is amazing once you learn the basics of PHP and how the CMS works. (and a lot of CSS fiddling). I felt I really had to donate to you guys after realizing how much you could do with the program.
Thanks, we are glad that you like it. A valid showcase gallery entry. And yes, once you have some PHP etc. knowledge the full flexibility of Zenphoto is revealed..;-)
Nice site for sure, but it appears to be a pure Joomla site and Zenphoto not being involved at all. The site is naturally completely invalid for the showcase gallery and therefore additionally your link has been deleted.
Finally finished my personal site using ZenPhoto (modified zenpage and zpmobile themes) For the desktop version I integrated the jquery zoom app into the main images, might add colorbox back in later. Integrated Code Computerlove's Photoswipe as the image viewer for mobile (works great on the iPad), and just got dynamic retina thumbnails working.
I was using the live switch in the theme for a while but it was being buggy. For most of the mobile development I switched the Safari UA mode using under the Developer Menu (Develop->User Agent->Safari iOS XXX) This engages the mobile theme, and you can inspect elements, scripts, and CSS easily.
There is also an iOS emulator you can get with xCode on Mac with a developer ID, it emulates iphone4 through iPad Retina, very helpful but no way in inspect code.
I just started a new clothing brand called ANIMINIMAL which features blacked out animals wearing coloured headphones. I used ZenPhoto to showcase my designs in the lookbook. I have made the website totally from scratch, including the t-shirts!
We have a Bakery in Montreal, that uses Zen for our website. We put tons of plugins, visit it at : http://www.SanPietro.ca I would love to be shown on the showcase. The site also has a Mobile theme.
Here is my photography site powered by zenphoto. I'm a creative developer as well as a photographer, photos are mine, and I coded the CSS for my theme called '3kandy'. I want to keep developing the site and theme, as I want to share it on github as well as here.
Do I understand correctly that you plan to make the theme available for the public via GitHub? New themes are always welcome (great would be Zenpage support added later).
In that case I would not add you to the showcase but later on to the theme sections once you setup your GitHub repository for it. The showcase is primarily meant for individual sites NOT using publicly available themes. Please see the "general contributor guidelines" on 3rd party themes.
If I did get you correctly please officially submit your theme in an extra topic. Thanks.
Well actually the goal for this site was to submit it to the showcase. So therefore, I'll start a new theme for the theme page. This one is def meant for the showcase.
Ok, I asked because you said otherwise or at least I understood it that way: "I want to keep developing the site and theme, as I want to share it on github as well as here.
I am an old user of zenphoto, I've just realized that I never submitted my site here It's based on the official zenpage theme, but with a custom main menu, a custom auto-play feature in image page, and an ajax based license information on every image. I don't know if it's enough to worth a place in the showcase, but anyway thanks for checking it..
Of course our taste matters a bit. It is absolutely okay if a theme is based on a default theme (no need to reinvent the wheel, galleries are all a bit similar by nature) as long we see that some really did his own custom design. Just adding a logo or changing link color is not.
So yours is very well valid. Thanks for submitting. And you should upgrade...;-)
Thanks acrylian, I'm planning to upgrade in a few days. At the moment I'm testing latest version in local environment, because I have slightly changed some things in a few official plugins to fit the design, and I have to propagate the changes to the new versions.
I'm off topic now, but I think that one of those changes could be introduced in the official version too. It's about `printAlbumMenu` and it's for adding the context sensitive feature also to image pages of dynamic albums.
If there is interest in it I can open a ticket in the new GitHub tracker..
