I downloaded this plugin, but I seem to be experiencing a bug, or mayhaps user error, but it's been 2 hours and I've gotten nowhere.

Server: CentOS 6.4, PHP 5.3, MySQL 5.1

Steps:

  1. Ran the OpenID detect script and got a successful return.
"Setup Complete! Your system should be ready to run the OpenID library."
  2. Installed federated_logon from Available Plugins (Users > federated_logon).
  3. Options > Plugin > Verified "Google" was ticked.
  4. Type in user+pass and then select 'Google' from Logon, but the following error is returned:
Federated logon error:Authentication error; not a valid OpenID.
Note: I also just tried selecting 'Google' before putting in user/pass and it got same error.

I tried this in both Firefox and Chrome and received the same results.
I also verified this OpenID option was enabled on our Google domain.

We have not tried to use this recently. A quick test also did not work for me. Most likely something has changed in openID handling. We use a third party library and that is where the failure is happening.

Best you open a ticket. It is not likely that we will find a quick solution since we have changed nothing on our end.

I had some more time to try this.

What I have found is that it works on my server based site but not on my local site. So I think that probably something in the configuration of the local site prevents it from working.

Thanks for the response !

So what you're saying is the host-your-own version of Zenphoto has the issue, but hosting it through Zenphoto does not have the same issue?

No, what I am saying is that running my local site which is not on a fully exposed network does not work. But doing the same on my hosted site does work. I presume that the protocol to validate is not working locally.

This is most likely an issue with the visibility of the local server.
