I just noticed a bug with the current zp. The Gallery sort (options/gallery) choice is overriding my Image sort (options/image) choice. I want my albums sorted by filename and my images sorted by date, but everything is currently being sorted by filename. Please advise! thanks.

But then you did not state your theme or Zenphoto version. Please read the forum rules. We have then for a reason, mostly to be better able to answer these types of questions.

Sorry about that. I'm using the current release of zenphoto, 1.4.5.7 and the problem persists no matter what theme I use- e.g. default, Stopdesign, zpmasonry. My choice for image sorting is not being applied- it uses the gallery sort choice.

Sorry, I cannot reproduce this as well. All working as expected both the manual sorting via the "image sort" tab and those dropdown selectors on the album.

Manually sorting on each album works, but sorting in the options/image still does nothing. Guess I have a solution, but the bug still persists for me.

Have you installed the support build?
