with the demo site of zenphoto (http://www.zenphoto.org/demo), dynamic-locale doesn't work.

So far as I can see, translations in general do not work on the site. Something our site administrator needs to address.

I think our site has only the us_EN locale as we actually don't really need other language content. I am sure Tris can install further ones though.

As an example my local server has all sorts of locales but my live server also has only German and English.

as demo site allows dynamic_locale plugin, the best thing is to replace language when requested by the site visitor of demo site...

Alternatively we just disable the plugin.

We should fix the site. The demo should really demo the software's capabilities. Without language support it does not.
