hi,
i was just wondering if there are any plans about a zenphoto api to update your page through i.e. an android app, being able to upload an image to an album or to publish a news update for a daily (photo)blog post. i guess an android app would be quite handy for this, but being able to send an e-mail to a special address with a photo attached would also do the trick.
i don't know how difficult this is to implement into the current zenphoto object model framework, if there should be some kind of api-plugin or if it would make more sense being build directly into zenphoto (and i'm not able to do the coding myself, unfortunately, but i would be more than happy to do the testing/bug reporting).

There are no plans for this. Also there is no one that could or would want to write an app at all.
There are plans to rework the backend and that alone is a major task.

thx a lot for your quick answer, acrylian.
it isn't an essential feature anyway, just thought it would be nice to have some kind of api to easily update, e.g. a photoblog.

Yeah, I agree it would be nice to have. It is no final "no" but just a "not now".

You could just use a FTP app to upload images to your hosting. Zenphoto will then auto detect the new images. I have done this before there are numerous FTP apps.
