Definitely not a programmer though experienced with basic HTML, CSS & CMS but no databases. Can't make heads or tails how to get this thing started re: adding pages & images. See no options for uploading or add pages on my admin interface. Installed Zenphoto in safe mode. Please advise.

Safe mode is useless and not recommended. Ask your host to turn it off.

There should be an [i]Upload[/i] tab on the admin interface. If not check if either the uploader_http or uploader_jQuery extension is enabled. (Admin -> Plugins tab)
You can of course also use FTP to upload.

Tabs for [i]Pages[/i] and [i]News[/i] become available on the admin interface when you enable the zenpage extension.
Note that the theme must support the display of [i]pages[/i] and [i]news[/i]. The [i]basic[/i] theme does not.

Link is visible for "News" and created a new page but it is not showing up: "Object not found The Zenphoto object you are requesting cannot be found."

yea, using the "Zenpage" theme which lists an option to display "News on index page" but no news page to link to even though I added one.

Just to be sure:
Did you create a [i]page[/i] (Pages tab) or a [i]news article[/i] (News tab)?
Only [i]news articles[/i] are displayed with the option [i]News on index page[/i]

nope, nothing there either. no more than what I mentioned: "Object not found The Zenphoto object you are requesting cannot be found." There's a news link always present but the link just leads to that 'object not found' page, regardless if there's a news article there or not. I'd like to just eliminate the link if it's non-functional & useless.

Are you sure you are really using a theme that supports the Zenpage plugin? Best post a link so we can take a look.

The Stopdesign theme has no support for the zenpage plugin. Nor is it likely to ever have support as it has been dropped from the current version of Zenphoto. (As an aside, you are not running the current version and should consider an upgrade. Even if you had uncovered a bug in the software it would not be fixed in the version you are using.)
