Hi,
I'm using the latest version of Zenphoto on a Debian server.
I have a folder containing several sub-folders but only one image at the level as the sub-folders.
Is it possible for the Random image shown at the top folder level to come from any of the sub-folders and not just the level below the folder?
Steve
Interesting.
Looking at my top-level folders (I separate my photos into years) I don't see thumbnails from any subfolders, only thumbnails of images directly below the folder - unless there are no images (only subfolders) in which case I do see subfolder random images)
Steve
The "show subalbum thumbs" actually refers to the selector for manual selecting an album thumb.
Generally the automatic function searches on purpose on the album itself first. Only if it does not find anything it returns an image from the further sub albums. If you have a lot of sublevels or albums this might have a performances cost otherwise.
For performance reasons I also would generally recommend to set a fixed album thumb anyway. Unless you have precached everything.
Otherwise Zenphoto will need to process the thumb anytime a new one is chosen wich can slow down expecially on bigger sites.
Again the selector with thumbs is for manual selection and has nothing to do with the random choice on page reload. The thumb selector will be replaced in the future anyway.
We'll take a look a depth limiting for random choice but I cannot promise anything. Not really any priority for us right now.
