I just installed zenphoto 1.1.5 and read about the Super Gallery. Installed to mytravels.mydomain.com and got it setup to Super Gallery. I then created directory mytravels.mydomain.com/sanfrancisco. While the images are being uploaded to mytravels.mydomain.com/sanfrancisco/albums/images/ directory, am wondering:
How do I get this album to show on the main directory as 1 of x number that will exist? The instructions aren't very detailed.

Thanks

PS: Thanks to whomever posted instructions for dreamhost web host clients. That got my site working!

The galleries are discovered automatically, so each folder you make in mytravels.mydomain.com/ that contains an installed zenphoto gallery will show up in the super gallery index page. At present, they will show up in the order you created them.

just an fyi about dreamhost: they now offer a 1 click install of zenphoto (and they say they keep it up to date)

Yes, Dremhost offers click-install ONLY for "easy". You get no files in your directory hence no customizing. They just picked up zenphoto after offering Gallery. Expect they'll offer Advance if users ask for it. (Hops so).

sbillard:
Bit confused: I thought I actually had to install zenphoto into each directory (one per gallery) in order to have separate themes and admin. Is this wrong? My images are currently not off the root but:
mytravels.mydomain.com/sanfrancisco/album/images. Following along this, I'd have mytravels.mydomain.com/britain/album/images again with full zenphoto install.

You do have to install zenphoto in each folder where you want a sub-gallery. Since it is a full install of zenphoto, the images for the subalbum would be in the albums folder of that subfolder. You do not put the sub-gallery folders in the albums folder, you put them in the same folder that has the zp-core folder.

folder structure:

HTTP root
..zenphoto install for the super gallery
....zp-core
....cache
....albums
....sub-gallery #1 folder
......zp-core
......cache
......albums
........album #1 folder
........album #2 folder
........(...)
....sub-gallery #2 folder
......zp-core
......cache
......albums
........album #1 folder
........album #2 folder
........(...)
etc.

I'm looking at the zenphoto structure and ALBUMS and ZP-CORE are at the same level, off the root. So if I follow, my install would be:

mytravels.mydomain.com/ >>> full install of Super Gallery themed zenphoto
mytravels.mydomain.com/albums/san francisco/ >> full install of choice1 themed zenphoto
mytravels.mydomain.com/albums/britain/ >> full install of choice2 themed zenphoto
mytravels.mydomain.com/albums/nextCity/ >> full install of choice3 themed zenphoto

That means FOUR (or more) places to set preferences; FOUR (or more) installs to update each time zenphoto updates, is this correct?

Doubt this is correct as when I am looking at how many albums I have, it now shows 4: sanfrancisco, themes, zp-core, cache!

What a mess I've gotten myself into!

You should not have put the sanfrancisco folder in the albums folder. It goes in the same folder you installed your original zenphoto in, which in your case appears to be mytravels.mydomain.com/ They DO NOT go in the zenphoto albums folder otherwise they will get looked at as albums!

I just moved "sanfrancisco" to mytravels.mydomain.com/sanfrancisco. This includes a full install of zenphoto. Where do I put the images themselves?

Once in their directory does that mean I can go to mytravels.mydomain.com and see the album for San Francisco? (Then others as installed)?

at mytravels.mydomain.com you will see a thumbnail that will then take you to San Francisco.
