There appears to be a limit on the number of digits that can be entered in the custom data field. Can this be changed or is this fixed?

The custom data field is a text field for up to 65535 characters.

I am pasting in text consisting of 1298 characters in to the album custom data field but it will only accept and display 175!

You are right, that must have to do with the <input> althought that is not limited to my knowledge, too. Actually it was not meant for that much text. Well, I guess we could make a <textarea> out of this.

I know 1298 characters might seem a lot but 175 is very limiting. I am actually trying split a album description so that only a basic description appears with the album thumb on the index page and then a more detailed description (using the custom data field) appears on the album page.

<textarea> for the custom data would be good:-)
