What happened to the using tags as strings? I liked being able to search my tags that way instead of having to type in the full tag in its entirety.

Suppose I have a tag called "Happy Go Lucky"

Searching Lucky does not find this tag, only searching this in its entirety works. I submitted this request before (See Topic), and I was told to go to tag strings instead of tag tables.

That is related to the change that tags now use the correct setup with separate table (before that they were stored within each image and album entry). sbillard knows more about the details why that does not work anymore.

Try using the tag suggest plugin, that will find your tag even if you just type "Happy".

Well, not exactly, they are case insensitive. But all the words must match.

Curious, is there any way to make it so that the whole tag does not have to be used, as in previous versions? Tag suggest works for the most part but it is more inconvenient for certain browsers, for example, the iPhone..

Nolt at present. The sql query to do this does not work and I don't know why.

You might want to give the tag_suggest plugin a try.

I tried it.. but I liked having them as strings so that i could search for people's names.. i have lots of group photos, and sometimes if i wanted a picture of two people together and stuff, then i like using the boolean search "jim & betty" or something..

Looks like I may be reverting after all.
