I made a simple guestbook script for my zenphoto but to save database table space i was wondering how I could use the comment function as a guestbook instead. But to do that I guess you need to give my guestbook page a ID just like the image page, and I don't know how that works.

Comments are 'mapped' to images, albums, or zenpage elements, so they are not stand-alone. Were you looking for something like an ability to make comments on the gallery as a whole?

Yes exactly.

You should create a feature request ticket for this. Without looking, I am not sure how difficult it would be to implement, but it sounds like it might be a generally useful enhancement.

Well, there is an idea. You could use an empty albums (without image) and enable comments on it. It is already possible to change the order to descending for a guestbook. But all comments will be on one page as there is now pagination for comments.

That sounds like it could work. One problem tho, the theme I've been working with doesn't allow comments in albums. Atleast it's not implented. Would it be possible, if I used a album as a guestbook, to remove the thumbnail for that album so it wont look like a regular album?

You can set it to unpublished, then it will not appear for not logged in users. But the clue is you can still link to it directly in a main navigation for example.

Got a problem with the album/guestbook. If I disable comments on my albumalbums it disables comments on the pictures in that album. Even tho the image allows comment. I don't want the comments to be enabled in my albumalbums, just in my guestbookalbum. Any ideas?

There are two options. One to enable comments in general on the options and then on for each image's/album's edit page to allow/disallow specificially.
