hi there.
my zenphoto-installation worked a long time. than i installed the new version and it worked a short time: i want to use the german language, but now only the english version runs. when i'm activating the multi-lingual funktion, i get on every setting only english :-(
the "gettext()" is running and i asked the host, if the server is running correctly and he said yes. what could it be?

thank you and greetings
kiewi

I can't reproduce any issue with the German translation.

Note the multilingual option has nothing to do with the translation of the backend itself. This is used to create content in different languages on the gallery/site itself.

I guess we need more info.

Infos like what theme, also link to the site would help. Also if you get any errors in your error log.

Again, note that the multilingual is for content of descriptions or titles, you need to enter that. The translation itself is only for the "fixed" terms. If you use a custom theme some of them might not work because gettext is line dependend regarding strings to translate.

i use the theme zenpage default with some changes. i try the zenpage default and default theme, but no german version. the site: www.kiewi.de
error File does not exist: /"xxx"/zp-core/plugins/tiny_mce/plugins/tinyzenpage/langs, referer: http://kiewi.de/zp-core/plugins/zenpage/admin-edit.php?newsarticle&update&pagenr=1
but this files are not in original folder too

the german words were for example "neuigkeiten" for "news" and "archiv" for "archive" and "artikel" for "artikel" ... i think this translations are in the .mo and .po files... but no file includes this lang-files.

Well, your site certainly is NOT using the zenpage-default theme. It may have been cloned from zenpage-default, but that is not the same thing. Are there any warning reports from setup.php? It really seems as if the Locale/Gettext functions on your server are not working.

This is clearly a customized version (nice one btw). If you changed lines (line numbers) gettext sometimes does not work as expected as it stores the line where the string to translate is found. Sometimes it does work though. Anyway, on my test site it is working http://zenpage-demo.maltem.de so it is a problem with your server or theme. There is also the possibility to have a separate theme translation but that has some disadvantages, too.
