I've uploaded zenphoto on my website example.com and am using mod rewrite functionality of zenphoto to get pretty URLs. The location of zenphoto files are in http://example.com/zenphoto. I have an album called familypics. Now I can visit this album page on this URL: http://example.com/zenphoto/familypics. This is working fine for me.

But what I want is to have this URL as [b]http://example.com/familypics[/b] and not as http://example.com/zenphoto/familypics and I want to keep the zenphoto files at http://example.com/zenphoto only.

Please help.

Just don't install Zenphoto within a folder named "zenphoto". Zenphoto runs fine from the root of your webspace.

Although it might be possible to add a rewrite rule to "skip" the "zenphoto" if you want to keep it in the folder but that has to my knowledge never been tried. Also it might cause issues if you have another script (like Wordpress or else) installed in the root.

Explaining how .htaccess works is far beyond this forum. I also never tried that and have, sorry, no time to do so. Try a web search on modrewrite and htaccess to find info about how to configure this.

Zenphoto's rewritten urls depend on the .htaccess file being setup correctly. If you play around you might break certain functionality.

The easiest is not install Zenphoto in the root.
