Hi all, I have a default watermark that works well for all the photos and there is no watermark on the thumbs which is what I want, so far so good.

I then have a second watermark for a specific album of which has been set in the albums options, but there is no option to select for thumbnails or not so I thought it must come from the default setting, however this is not the case, the watermwark is visible on the thumbs for the paged_thumbs_nav plugin when it should not be.

Bug, option missed or what?

Generally thumbs do not get a watermark, most of the time makes no sense since they are both cropped and quite small.

However you can even do that by using the custom image functions. They have a parameter to set that (last one if I recall right).

There is also an option on options > image > watermark. Of course if you use custom image functions in your theme they may not use these default settings (which is the reason for custom image functions actually..)

If the thumbs in the paged_thumbs_nav has watermarks, that might be a bug.

If I recall correctly there was such a bug in paged-thumbs_nav that was corrected in the nightly builds. Can you give the nightly a try?

Can you recall which nightly build? I have in use 12/8... I will go to 12/9 and see what happens.

It was not recent, so I guess there must still be a problem.

While you are doing that both the 12/8 and 12/9 give this warning at set-up that you might want to take a look at

Perhaps there was a problem with the upload. You should check the following files:

You probably did not clear the image cache so you still see the old ones.

Yes I did, twice just to make sure. When I then go and view the images the thumbs initially appear without the watermark, but after viewing the images the thumbs retain the watermarks.

Am I understanding you correctly?

When the page first loads the paged thumbs thumbnails have no watermark.

Then you click on a thumb to view the image and the paged thumgs for that image have watermarks.

What happens when you return to the original page?

Yes that is what I am saying... However in further testing it seems intermittent which is even more annoying. I have cleared the cache from the system, also done a full clear of the cache via FTP just to make sure and cleared my browsers cache and tried it in different browsers and then gone and checked my settings of ZP and it still happens.

It is a bugger I can't give you access to see it happening, as it at this stage is locked to our local IP and local dev servers.

Anyway I will try another nightly build and see if that makes any improvements.

Oh, and now the odd thing, if I turn the watermark off, as in use none nowhere, on one group of albums the watermarks are still being shown..... cache again cleared, different PC tried, cleared the cache via FTP and done everything I can think of... this is really bugging me now...

Those are normal thumbs that get the watermark or thumbs ny the pagedthumbs nave or jCarousel plugin? Just to be sure.

Yes it is something I am trying to work on now to see if that is it, it is really the only thing that I can think of that might be causing this to happen.

I will report back if I get it sorted.

If you have cleared the zenphoto cache and reset the watermarks to all off and are still seeing watermarks then either your server or your browser are caching the images when they should not.

OK, I have done some more testing and have worked out why I am having the issue I am having.

In the main site options I have the watermark for images and thumbs to 'none' for testing, I will actually have them all watermarked, but lets leave it as none to illustrate my issue.

Then in one of the albums where I wanted a slightly different watermark I set that album its own watermark. There is no option in the album to set it for images and/or image thumbnails like there is in the main options section. So therefore the watermark applies itself to all of the images and thumbnails.

There needs to be an option added to the album select for images and thumbs as there is in the main site options section, that way we can define if we want any alternate watermark to be applied to images and/or image thumbs.

At least now I know what the problem is.
