I have just downloaded the newest release 1.4.0.1

I have, as recommended turned magic_quotes off!

I created a new database, and it is up and running.

Still.. entering the database information, hitting GO! i get this error:

I am new to PHP and MySQL and thats why, the above is gibberish to me, perhaps someone could tell me what it means so I can fix it.
