I need to restrict the access to albums according to the user. For instance, I each project is related to a certain user and when a user will access with its credential I don't want him/her to view Albums that are not related to him/her.

How can I restrict each album to selected users?

Thanks for any tip.

You can assign top level albums to each user. Please see the troubleshooting on this topic as well.

Sorry but couldn't find any answer. I have found a similar question where what I am asking seems not possible: http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=3978#post-23818

Can you please help clarify this issue, as this is the most important for me utilizing the gallery. Thanks for your patience.

Ok sorry found a detailed instruction on a similar subject which has been already discussed earlier: http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=6878#post-40360

This answers my query and solves it.
Thanks a lot!

I do know that but you should also think that not all people are IT professionals and not all can understand technical terminology and thoughts at all levels. So unless you want to restrict your users only to IT pro I believe the forum is a great assist for those like me.

No, we really don't (I am not coming from coding but design and illustration originally) but we except to look at little around on the user guide as well. Also keep in mind we are volunteers here.

Dear acrylian I do appreciate a lot your help and I am not giving anything for granted, please don't get me wrong. I am also volunteer in more than one site although aimed at something unrelated to IT therefore I do appreciate your effort. But as I said it's not always easy for everyone to read and understand that's why this forum (as far as I have read) is heavily used by many users who ask silly questions like myself. Thanks again for your patience and time.

Yes, of course and all questions are welcome. I don't want to create missunderstandings here. So please don't get me wrong either.

But we get often the same type of questions several times although they either have been already answered on other threads or the user guide itself.

Some people just ask instead of searching a little bit themselves. It is not and can't always be clear if they are just "lazy" or don't understand it.

Thus sometimes our reactions that might make you feel sort of "not welcome". Sorry for that.

Another bother, in the user guide, in the search, I have typed "top level restriction" but no result. I have tried other searches as well, some brought me into the User guide but either I could not understand or the info seems incomplete. If I don't want users pertaining to a defined group to be restricted only to the second level what should I do?

You simply can only assign users to top level albums.
