Hello,

I just installed a brand-new gallery using the 1.4.3-DEV [9995] version (2012-04-30 Development file). It's uploaded and installed in at http://mysite.com/photos (just in case folder name is important). It's a totally new installation: new folder, new database...

Then I click on the link. At first, setup starts and I see:
http://mysite.com/photos/zp-core/setup.php?autorun=gallery (last part quoted from memory)... and it quickly stops with a white page. Nothing happens, it's dead...

When I explore the files, I notice that a Config file has been created but the "Database configuration" data is empty (and prefix is a simple dot). Once I fill in those fields by hand, the setup process works OK, and the database seems to be configured correctly (proper prefix, proper tables).

So it seems that 1.4.3 DEV is not able to write in the configuration file. Permissions of the config file were 0644... and an installation of 1.4.2 trunk on the same server worked, which means it's clearly a problem with the 1.4.3 DEV.

Something is inconsistent here. If the install was fresh, there would be no config file present. If ZP could not write to it it could not create it either.

If I try this, I get the setup screen asking for the database credentials as expected.

Please check your error logs and see if anything is reported.

Just to make sure, I did yet another totally new setup. Once I decompress the Zenphoto archive, thezp-data folder is empty.
Once I start running the script and get my empty page, I have the following files and content :

zenphoto.cfg: as said above

debug.log:
Backtrace: STRICT NOTICE: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. .htaccess:
`

From the previous 1.4.3 Dev installation that I did, I also remember that Timezone was set as Undefined, whereas a previous 1.4.2 installation gave me Timezone = America/Los Angeles.
I am located in Montréal, but my server is in LA. So this seems to be the problem.

In case it matters, I have: Appache 2.2.21 on Unix; PHP 5.2.17; MySQL 5.1.56. This 1.4.3 Dev installation was done using a Windows 7 (64bit French) system. I can't say whether the 1.4.2 installations were all done with that system or with Windows XP (32bits French) – probably both were used at different points.

Once I edit the configuration file as said in the first message, installation proceeds and the debug.log file is re-initialized.

Sorry, I had been away for a few days.

To make a long story short, I can't access the bugtracker.
I had an account, but can't remember the password. When I ask for a reminder, I get this message:
`
Oops…
Trac detected an internal error:

AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IPasswordHashMethod" interface named "HtDigestHashMethod". Please update the option account-manager.hash_method in trac.ini.

There was an internal error in Trac. It is recommended that you inform your local Trac administrator and give him all the information he needs to reproduce the issue.

To that end, you could a ticket.

The action that triggered the error was:

POST: /reset_password

TracGuide — The Trac User and Administration Guide
`
... and obviously I can't create a ticket for the error because I'm not registered.

Ok, what is your account name? Then we can delete it and you can recreate it with the proper password.
