Just wanted to show my support and appreciation here. I have been using ZP for quite a while now and I have been loving it every day. I hope Tristan finds time with or without the help of others to keep working on this project. Thanks again!
  • Or you could just use the chat on zenphoto.com

I recommend the chat, or just the forums. They're a good place to discuss. Chat's more real-time though, so that's cool.

I want to organize a group of developers, as I've had several offers of people wanting to help. I'd like to give SVN access to one person to start so they can help me filter/check in code and manage the codebase, and eventually give access to the whole group. I'd say 4-5 people so far have expressed interest, which is great!

I'll keep you guys posted here (and over e-mail if you've contacted me).

GameDudeX, I'm sorry to hear you'll be leaving us, but no worries. Do what you need to do and enjoy life, see you later!
  • I think I have removed all spam comments on the active tickets in Trac. I'm also planning to do this for the already closed tickets. After that's finished, I will try to keep the issue tracker in a clean state, so that it provides a clear overview of the current state of Zenphoto. I'm also planning to go through the active issues and set the milestones and priorities to a reasonable value, based on the roadmap that's available in Trac.

If anyone notices unwanted comments (probably this is spam), please let me know at my msturm10 [ at ] gmail.

Glad to see that there are people still interested in moving the project along. I don't really have the time or want to get too heavily involved in development, but I'll watch what's happening and contribute patches etc when I have anything to give.
  • @msturm10

Thanks for your work. I did a few earlier that I noticed when I was looking at my geocoding trac entry.

I've been looking at some of the issues with a 1.0.9 or 1.1 milestone. If anyone has any input on them (especially ones I'm having trouble reproducing) let me know.
  • Thanks tristan. Keep in mind, I don't plan on leaving for good, just while I get my stuff together.

In the words of our governator... I'll be back. :P
  • Has anyone gotten SVN permission yet? Its been a month and I haven't heard anything yet?!
  • I still haven't got any news from tristan.
And i'm working on another project of my own !
  • trisweb Administrator
I'll reply soon - hold your horses. :)
  • What do you consider soon? :)
  • ...preparing for the possibility zenphoto is dead...
  • acrylian Administrator, Developer
Talk of the devil (and he will appear)...

I hope it's not! I discovered zenphoto only a few month ago and like it best of all gallery systems I tested...
I am sadly not that php ace but I am willing to help a little if I can, too (I did a few little things recently that surely can be improved...). Even if it's usage documentation or the like.

PS: Seems that plogger is a strong opponent...
  • @acrylian: yea, I saw plogger a while back. It has potential but doesnt seem as nicely laid out and themeable as zenphoto. I hope tris does what he said he would.
  • acrylian Administrator, Developer
@aif311: Yes, you're absolutly right. That's why I am here..:-)
  • I had some serious problems with image uploads with plogger, which is why I checked out zenphoto. Basically, I had to upload and import 10 images at a time or things would break. I see that there is a new version now, so maybe things are better. Still, the implementation of zenphoto seems to be better thought out. Too bad it is at a stand still. I'm afraid, given the falling off of postings, that zenphoto may be a dead end. Of course, I can still use it as it is, and I suppose we could start maintaing a new trunk somewhere else if Tris doesn't get around to enabling someone to operate the Trak here.
  • Thats the best suggestion I have heard yet
  • So... why not make a fork of zenphoto ?
  • trisweb Administrator
Before you fork, let me make you an offer... organize yourselves in this thread:

Thanks guys, we'll get this rolling...
  • The man speaks! Thanks trisweb, sounds good
  • Sounds good to me too. I may not be an exemplary coder, but I sure can moderate, help support where I can, write documentation and learn. :)
  • I'll post my resume as requested on this new post ASAP !
