  • Ok, fair enough. I just did the 1.4.1.1 upgrade *without* dropping the admins database table, and it worked fine. I was able to log in during the upgrade, and now the system allows log-ins by both defined admin users. So that's all good. I guess now it's just a question of whether this will come back at a later time to bite me - only time will tell. :-) Thanks for the help.
  • i am facing same issues with 1.4.2.1 latest. tried every modems i can and every lease lines i can with every browsers.

There's only one browser on my office with typical one machine that supports login and that too with firefox.

sometimes my machine takes it but 99% of time my laptop dont allow me to login.

i am having 1800+ images in my gallery and 250 albums and sub albums .. am not a programmer so worried about the deleting the admin table and running setup again for 1.4.2.1 ..

    please guide what to do.

The administrator table is not directly related to the albums. Unless you have lots of users with lots of different rights. Then you would have to setup those again. But even then it should not harm your albums.
  • If you can log in sometimes and not others (and of course if you are using the same credentials each time) then the problem is not that you have forgot your credentials. Maybe you should more thoruoghly describe what you mean by you are not allowed to login?
  • Sorry sBillard

i've only one user that is admin, i have deleted admin table and ran setup which allowed me to login at that time while on a partners home last night.

Just woke up and tried to login and the login form just resets on submit and showing the same login form again and again not going ahead.

when i delete everything from browser cache and cookies and everything reset modem and restart then also it is not allowing me to login. once in 1000 tries i get chance that it lets me in. that too not sure of what its happening at that time.
  • My Debug.log says

  • I think i have found the trick or solution. since i set up new password different way.

1cap letter rest small with 1 special char and few numbers

My observation is using two capital letters making issue.

now that i set the new password i am able to login logout for about 20 times now. may be in two three days i'll have go office after weekend and try two different modems..

    Will update soon on this.
  • Sorry to put this message. putting my modem off while was out for three four hours. it stops working again showing same old fashion login page on submit no errors.

Btw, the error above is from the RSS bug we had discussed. Sadly I have no idea to the login issue. Sorry if you already have mentioned, but what browser and system are you using?
  • I am on mac with almost all browsers tested even at windows also.

mainly i use Macbook pro with Google Chrome.

Well adding to my new find i've logged in once again by resetting the admin password and then what i did immediately with that session is that i made another admin level access to my self.

later when i logged out i was unable to login through admin like same i am facing but i was and am able to access with new admin level user.
  • Please check if you have the `Cookie security` option selected. Reset it if you do.

Otherwise the only thought I have is that your connection is corrupting data. The character structure of your password makes no difference (so long as it meets the required criteria.) But maybe something is changing the characters when transmitted from your browser.

Also the symptoms you describe best match a transmission error. If you can log in sometimes but not others using the same user/password, it is not a problem with those credentials.
