After copying the zen-files to my webspace and typing in the "http://xxxxxxxxxx/zenphoto/zp-core/setup.php" command I get the following information:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gettext() in C:\AppServ\www\Gallery2\zenphoto\zp-core\setup.php on line 21
what did I do wrong ?

The gettext extension for PHP is needed:

Ask your host if they can install this on the server. The install guide says it's needed for multi-lingual use, but it seems that it is expecting it to be there at that point in the install script. Ideally, your hosting service can simply install the gettext extension for you. If not, this post might do it:

That's something maybe to address before the 1.3.0 release? I only glanced quickly through it, but my overall understanding is that gettext should not be required to install.
